The problem with so many street style “stars” is that it’s hard to hide the fact that they are getting dressed to be photographed. It’s a great thing really, because they help create excitement around clothes, and their bold styling experiments inspire the rest of us to take more risks. Yet, I still get a twinge of “oh, PA-lease” when I see Vika wearing a gothic Victorian wedding gown or Anna DR balancing an entire fruit basket on her head. It’s so fun and fabulous, but totally unrealistic. Which brings me to Giovanna Battaglia. To me, her looks never come off as forced or for show. Of course being an ex-DG model and working as an editor at W and general girl about town is going to bring a certain level of fashion expectation, but she pulls off her looks in such a chic and easy way. I truly believe that she kind of just threw it all on and thanks to her impeccable personal style pulled it off. She has me fooled!
A perfect example is this effortless and coolly casual Paris Fashion Week look. A simple dress, a pop of color and chic shades. Here’s how to get the look. If only we had her cheekbones to go with it…
1. Surface to Air Lava Dress 2. Clare Vivier Fold Over Clutch 3. We Are Owls Hands Silk Scarf 4. Jenni Kayne Whipstitch Flat
