A fresh transitional look! Pair Jenni Kayne’s sweet floral chiffon blouse with sexy leopard spots. The skirt is vintage and I scored it at Feathers in Austin, TX for $25! The shoes are Marni and were my summer splurge. Love a high/low look.

75% of my wardrobe comes from Les Nouvelles. How can I resist? The rest is vintage. And my favorite vintage store. Ever. Is FEATHERS in Austin, TX. Whenever I’m in town, I bust in there like a wacko bride at Filene’s Basement. I pile dress after dress after tunic after caftan into the dressing room and then dash around the store and accessorize my finds with the colorful selection of belts, bags and shoes. I always leave with too many things that I absolutely can’t live without. And the best part is that vintage stuff + LN pieces = effortless chic.

Fashionista wrote about feathers the other day. There were hints of this emerging trend on the fall runways and several designers have followed up with both fabulous and unfortunate feather embellished looks. Ahem, boas are strictly for dress up. Les Nouvelles found some beautiful pieces from Jenni Kayne and Willow and both fall firmly on the fabulous side of this trend.
Jenni Kayne was obvious in her feathering and layered a tunic with dark plumage. A decadent top! Willow took a more abstract approach. Their fall collection, Creature, was inspired by birds in flight and is characterized by whimsical laser cut feather detail and flowing sleeves.
So whether you rock feathers in a major way this fall or just hint at the trend, Jenni Kaye and Willow provide some solid options. And you can find them on ShopLesNouvelles.com!
