I’m not completely on board with the kicks and couture look. While I think mixing Alaia with New Balance is super chic and unexpected in theory (reference example below), I can’t help but think of those New York City secretaries in the 80s wearing a Dress Barn poly-blend suit and Reeboks with tube socks. Nonetheless, the fashion set is embracing this pairing, and I’m intrigued. At the very least, it’s gives your toes a little breather. My sneak of choice would probably be Newtons. The colors are bright and fresh and the shape isn’t too bulky. What do you think? Will you be running after this trend?
