First Day of Fall

A fresh transitional look! Pair Jenni Kayne’s sweet floral chiffon blouse with sexy leopard spots. The skirt is vintage and I scored it at Feathers in Austin, TX for $25! The shoes are Marni and were my summer splurge. Love a high/low look.

Move Over Miu Miu

If Marni and Dries Van Noten had a love child, it would look something like Cacharel’s fall 2010 collection. The quirky mix and match prints and chic layers have “it girl” written all over them. And with Miu Miu moving way up market this year, Cacharel is poised to fill that void for accessible ready to wear.  LN is one of a handful of US retailers to carry this fresh collection for fall. Get it while it’s HOT!

A Late Summer Look

Right about now you’re getting that flutter in your stomach about fall shopping. The August fashion books are featuring woolly sweaters, tailored blazers  and luxe layers, and you are lusting over every piece that hints at the crisp autumn ahead. Then you step outside and are slapped in the face with a dense and hot humidity. Yes my dears, fall is so close, yet so very far. So relish in the summer sun and invest in some major SALE pieces that you can wear NOW and LATER.

Take Jenni Kayne’s Sequin Leather Top pictured below. The matte leather sequin are perfect for day or night. Pair with boyfriend cargo shorts NOW (like the Surface to Air pair pictured below) and LATER when fall finally arrives, layer under a fluid blazer or a chunky cashmere cardigan.

Girl Crush: Nora Kirkpatrick

Keyboards are the new messenger bags.

Nora Kirkpatrick is 1/12th the indie, psychedelic, folk group, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. They are a traveling band of hipster gypsies and their happy, eclectic sound is intoxicating. Nora plays the keyboard, accordion and the occasional tambourine. Crush! At a recent live show, she totally shined in a simple baby blue vintage romper with her long blond hair in a middle part. At Coachella she was snapped in another sweet vintage number. I just love her chic Marsha Brady style. I can totally see her jamming in AKA’s floral romper or Rag & Bone’s stam romper.
