Style Notes

Mother of Pearl F14

Mother of Pearl found inspiration for their Fall collection from artist William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. Collaborating artist is New York based Richard Saja who reinterpreted his aesthetic with Ruskin-esque tones. Saja’s delicate needlework has been injected into Mother of Pearl’s signature use of prints that have come to define the label.

Dria Murphy: Keep.com

We sat down with Keep.com‘s Style and Communications Director Dria Murphy for her Fall must haves and insider advice on working it at a start up.

Describe your job at Keep.
It is always exciting working for a startup! Downtime does not exist so I am constantly motivated. I am in and out of the office a lot, meeting with and entertaining influencers in the fashion, beauty, and home décor world. I develop fresh ideas and actively pitch them to the press, spreading the word and raising awareness about the utility of Keep! I act somewhat as “biz dev” type liaison and project manager when press outreach turns into partnership programs and integration events. You can buy from any store on the Keep app, and therefore any magazine. In addition to public relations responsibilities I curate a lot of Keep’s ‘style channels’ on the homepage and in the app. I work closely with our designer Alex Hollender in choosing which products go where to ensure our site is stylish in addition to visually appealing.

What is your office to out-on-the-town style?
I feel lucky because I can wear almost anything I want to work. This makes the transition from work to play easy. My go-to is a high open toe heel or pump with skinny dark denim, a top with color and a great jacket with chunky accessories.

Name three wardrobe pieces that you can’t live without.
A great leather jacket, skinny jean, and Karen Walker sunnies.

Who are your favorite designers for fall?
Rag and Bone, Isabel Marant and Tibi!

Where is your favorite place to cocktail in NYC?
That’s a touch one, there are so many! I love hanging out at SoHo House and Jeffrey’s Grocery in the West Village.

What are your go to beauty products?
Caudalie Beauty Elixir, Estee Lauder pure color blush, Clarins flash beauty balm, Marc Jacobs Beauty lust for lacuer lip vinyl, Benefit Cosmetics ‘they’re real mascara’, and Bliss multi-face-eted clay mask.

What are your travel plans for fall?
I am headed home to San Francisco a few times this fall to see my family and attend a wedding. I am trying to sneak a LA trip in there also!
